KMA143 Minor Threat – First Demo Tape
1981. Washington D.C.
Hardcore music. The straight-edge movement. Ian MacKaye, Lyle Preslar, Brian Baker and Jeff Nelson (with some back-up yelling by Henry Garfield, er… Rollins). A band called Minor Threat.
You’ve probably heard these songs a million times already. You know all the words. You revel in the short, sharp shock of the songs. It’s like a slap to the face that results in enlightenment. Everything here is clear, solid gold.
This band went on to other really great things, and along the way they had so many important things to say. This demo was only the first of it. I know you were listening. Best case scenario, you’ve heard as well.
