I truly am a High Fidelity geek, because it totally wouldn’t feel right if I didn’t address the following (necessary) changes to this year’s list of best records:
During a recent chat with James, it was brought to my attention that Hawksley Workman’s brilliant record, Between The Beautifuls, was indeed released early in 2008, even though the packaging on my copy says 2007. Looking back, it wasn’t in my Best Of 2007 list, so fair enough ‘cos it surely would have been. So, my deepest apologies to Hawksley, because that record DEFINITELY deserves a place on this list, no matter what year it was officially released.
I listed two Pack A.D. records (because they are awesome), but only counted them both as one. So, I count them as two and count us all as lucky that they saw fit to release both records in the same year. Yummy!
These two corrections have necessitated the removal of two records from my original list. All apologies to Beck and Martha Wainwright, you made excellent records that made my list for sure. But Hawksley and Pack A.D. come first, for me. So be it!
