Sunday morning, on the way home from the concert, we rocked some great tunes in the car. Craig drives this new Lincoln sedan that’s all space-aged, all the bells and whistles. I don’t know if the songs were in an iPod somewhere in the console, or on a hard drive or what. Whatever it was, it’ll have been the latest toy. Cool car.
Anyway, first we rocked the Pure Cult as we bombed back out the 407 with zero traffic. Honestly, we made it from the lakeshore out to Highway 10 in 25 minutes. It was like the road belonged to us. YES! When the Cult was done, we rocked two new (2014) albums. I can’t review them, exactly, but I can give you impressions:
1) Sebastian Bach – Give ‘Em Hell was amazing. AMAZING. I loved every song and I had them in my head for hours after I was at home. I might have to buy the damn thing, it was so heavy and crunchy and great.
2) Winger – Better Days Comin’ was also quite good. The songs were ably played, and it rocked as well. It didn’t stand out as much, to me, as the Bach did, but I’m sure if I’d heard it first I might have had a stronger opinion on it. Very enjoyable!
Anyway, this post is just a random “hey, this crossed my mind and I should tell the internets about it” sort of thing. But I really did have one helluva musical weekend. Oh, and on the way down it was the Hits of the Black Crowes. What a trip.
