Back From Taranna 2014

Oh my goodness.

What a great trip. Everything ticked along on time, the weather cooperated, we got to go to the record shops we wanted to hit. We’ve got this down to a science, now. We are Masters Of The Taranna trip. Yes!

Both Mike and myself got a ton of treasures.  Oodles. I won’t spoil it all here, in this update post. Suffice it to say there will be a big reveal shortly. Let’s just say we gave ‘er and we were rewarded!

SAD NEWS: We did not find one single disc for any of the rest of you from the Grail List. Not one, and it wasn’t for lack of looking! We were completely disappointed on this point. There’s nothing the KMA likes better than helping out our friends but, sadly, we were thwarted utterly.

So, in truth, the awesome was bittersweet. We found super-cool things, but not one for any of you guys. Full report on treasures found forthcoming – and Mike will be putting up a video at some point. Give him time!

  1. Yeah, Mike broke the news to me this aft. Thanks for trying, guys! I’m impressed with your ease of navigation thru Taranna today.

  2. And thx for entertaining me with your Cupface pics on bbm!

    • I enjoyed doing that! I was relaying all your messages to A as we were out and about. It was a great time, thanks for being part of it in some small way!

      • Glad it was a lazy Saturday and I was home to get your messages (no data plan, wifi only)!

        • Well it kept us entertained, or me anyway, while Aaron was out there dodging traffic. And backing out of shady parking lots in Chinatown!

          • We should call him Steely A! I hate driving in T-Dot.

            • There was a fair amount of lane closure due to construction, too. He did awesome (as always). He’s aggressive enough to drive the Big Smoke but safe.

              • Yeah, you have to be aggressive to drive in that town. I don’t make it that far in for my job and that 3 km stretch I have to drive from / to 407 is still peppered w a$$hole drivers!

                • I kept talking about this with Aaron — I think I’m going to ask for a dashcam for this year’s Christmas gift. I’m not trying to compete with people over who has the worst drives but the amount of stupidity I see every day is worth documenting, I believe. One day I may need it, I fear.

                  • K and I have considered it, and he drives to Don Mills. I’d keep that thing running all day in the parking lot too. My car’s been rashed, dented, broken into…it would be nice to have some evidence to take back to then TPS.

                    • I have so much “parking lot rash” it’s nuts. Haven’t had this vehicle broken into thankfully.

                    • Rashed my current car? Yes – I have a pic of it on FB. Had it in my old car too, and that car was broken into.
I am convinced I can’t keep my cars nice, so I don’t bother with buying overly pretty or expensive cars. My current was a former rental from dollar thrifty – navy blue. I didn’t choose the colour. Truth is,I can’t worry about it, because sooner or later it will get scratched, and I won’t be paying to fix cosmetics.

                • It’s not so much aggression as Just Fucking Go. Toronto drivers suck, yes, but they (usually) know where they are going and they are oblvious to you and are just gonna go. So, if you know where you’re going and you figure everyone else does, the secret to Toronto driving is to just go. Don’t wait for anyone, just put your nose out there and give ‘er. They will recognize you as one of your own. If you hesitate and wait for people, you’ll sit there all friggin’ day.

            • Nah, too close to Steely Dan and, if my memory of their stuff is correct, they ain’t too Steely!

          • Hahaha it was only two shady Chinatown parking lots. In the grand scheme of where we were in town, that was actually pretty damn good! 🙂

  3. Dude, I got home last night, started unpacking my bags, and just arranged all my lovely new things around me in a semi circle, as I admired and picked them up. This was such a fun time…I’m going to post a few small pics today without spoiling too much.

Video should be along in a week or so if all goes well! I watched some of the footage last night. I often cut too abruptly but I can work with it.
