iTunes Random Play, Pt.6

It’s been a while since I did this, so I thought this would be fun to try again. Tonight I’ve played 25 songs on iTunes random play of my entire collection. For the record, today that is 2,948 albums, 30,534 songs.

Here we go!

Royal Crown Revue – Morning Light
Elvis Costello & The Roots – Refuse To Be Saved
Pavement – Kennel District
Billy Childish & The Blackhands – The Axeman Cometh
Willie Nelson – I Hear You Knockin’
Chumps – Jet Lag Drag
Squirrel Nut Zippers – Low Down Man
Soul Side – Punch The Geek
Blue Rodeo – You’re Everywhere
Wu-Tang Clan – Method Man
Teenage Guitar – The Instant American
Hootie & The Blowfish – Cracked Rear View
Tragically Hip – Titanic Terrarium (Live From the Vault, Vol. 4)
Beach Boys – Be True To Your School (Single Version)
Elvis Presley – Burning Love
Pearl Jam – Elderly Woman Behind The Counter In A Small Town (Oslo, 2000-06-29)
Johnny Cash & June Carter Cash – Oh, What A Good Thing We Had
Cassandra Wilson – Solomon Sang
Who – Tommy’s Holiday Camp
Louis Armstrong – The Last Time (Original)
Circus Devils – Blanks
Geoff Berner – Light Enough To Travel
Jon Spencer Blues Explosion – Get Down Lover
Beatles – A Taste Of Honey
Black Sabbath – It’s Alright

Some jazz, some rock, some oldies, even a couple of live tracks… The Who track was just a short one (a quick one while he’s away, perhaps?), clearly part of the Tommy thing but I haven’t heard it all the way through yet. And that Sabbath track… My lovely wife couldn’t guess who it was…

That Wu-Tang track was always the weakest on 36 Chambers, just juvenile nonsense. The Chumps is off the 30 Seconds Over DC complation Rollins re-released ages ago. Soul Side is from the brilliant Dischord Records boxed set. Teenage Guitar and Circus Devils are, of course, Robert Pollard/GBV-related. And Hootie. Oh, Hootie. The Willie Nelson is off the Fats Domino tribute…

This has been fun! I’m glad I remembered to try this again! GIVE ‘ER!

  1. Blue Rodeo right into Wu-Tang. NUFF SAID!

Although that Beatles-to-Sabbath transition would be cool!
