iTunes Random Play, Pt.10

Alright, this is edition 10. By now, I figure this has become a Thing. More than a series… a Thing. Whatever it is, I find it fun! I get to listen to music from my collection at random, which is a nice switch from focussing on an artist’s albums, one at a time. I find that’s a far more intensive process. This way, though, I get to just put the tunes on in the background in the living room and do everything else needs doing around here while my iMac serenades me. Sweet deal. I couldn’t do album reviews this way, I need to concentrate more on those, so this feels freeing.

Now, I don’t know if you even need me to tell you about these listening sessions. I mean, you’re doing similar at home yourselves, I’m sure. But, in my defense, I have to add, ten posts of these already makes 250 songs. How do you argue with all of that awesome?

Here we go:

Dixie Chicks – Cold Day In July
Tim Armstrong – Into Action
Rush – The Analog Kid
Duke Ellington – Take The ‘A’ Train
Paco De Lucía Sextet – Buana Buana King Kong (Rumba) (live)
Chuck Berry – Worried Life Blues
Pearl Jam – Black (live Oslo 2000)
Neil Young – Cripple Creek Ferry
Jon Spencer Blues Explosion – Vacuum Of Loneliness
Garth Brooks – Two Of A Kind, Workin’ On A Full House (live)
Bruce Springsteen – Born in The U.S.A. (live in NYC)
Stevie Ray Vaughan – Telephone Song
Pearl Jam – State Of Love And trust (Live On Ten Legs)
Ani DiFranco – Marrow
Thee Shams – Can’t Fight It
Metallica – Master Of Puppets
Marsalis Family – Monkey Puzzle (live)
Roots – What Goes On Pt.7
Commitments – Bye Bye Baby
Hank Williams – Ramblin’ Man
Bonnie Raitt – One Belief Away
Red Hot Chili Peppers – The Brothers Cup
Takeovers – The Jester Of Helpmeat
Bachman Turner Overdrive – Down To The Line
Iron Maiden – Transylvania

6 live tracks! Lots to love in here yet again and no SUCK. Ahhhh… Life is grand…

  1. I’m going to say “I like your series”, because I don’t want to say, “I like your thing.”

Another interesting mix. Ending on Transylvania…interesting! How did that work as a closer?

    • Aw Mike, you like my thing. That’s so sweet. Hahahahaaa!!

Iron Maiden anytime is a good thing (unless it’s Blaze). So as a closer? S’all good!

Yeah Master. I’m always surprised when a common song like that turns up. I mean, I have 30,000 tracks here. Yes, I play that record fairly often, so sometimes I wonder if the “random” feature of iTunes isn’t all that random…
