Johnny Nash – The Reggae Collection

Collecting all of Nash’s reggae recordings for Epic Records, this is a sunny, feel-good 21-track survey of his rock-steady career. There’s even a glowing intro from Wolfman Jack, and a cover of Stir It Up too. There are also three previously unreleased tracks at the end of the disc.

Nash is a smooth singer, like the 50s pop ballad crooner he was groomed to be. But here he’s singing true to his heart, backed by the sweet reggae beat he preferred.

You’ll know I Can See Clearly Now (found here in a version previously unreleased in the USA). I also liked Reggae On Broadway, for adding some funk. But every song here is a lovely tune indeed.

Two thumbs up!
