Christmas 2014, Pt.3

We spend the holidays at our parental units’ places, so we try to do Christmas a little early at our house. We chose yesterday morning to start the festivities!

Included with my gift from my lovely wife, this year, was a Christmas card. And tucked inside the card were these two plectrums. They’re made by a local wood artist, by hand. He makes them in wood and bone. She selected a couple made from bone because, on the artist’s recommendation, they are very durable and have a wonderful sound on the strings.

I can’t wait to try them out!

Sorry for the shite photie. Neither of my cameras would focus on these. I blame the photographer.

  1. Holy crap. Hand carved?? I’ve never seen any like those before.

    • Was just thinking, if she had been really on the ball when she was writing up this card, she’d have put “I HAVE A BONE TO PICK WITH YOU!” Haha I gotta tell her that when she gets home from work.

  2. Haha WTF I was supposed to set this to post at noon today! I think I didn’t change the date, just the time… Ah well, here it is now!

Yeah, hand-carved. There are quite a few very talented artisans in this area. These picks are very firm, and just feel good in the hand. Looking forward to the chance to let ’em rip!

  3. Nice boners! Shame you don’t have wood. Bet they feel firm in the hand, huh?
