I love Dave with Tim Reynolds, so this 2CD version was a must.
You know Dave, his sound. This solo effort is no different, except it floats, dream-like, and it’s moodier, darker. This album is a good escape mechanism, put it on and drift away. A tune like So Damn Lucky, I could hear Paul MacLeod (R.I.P.) doing it. Gorgeous. This is an excursion, a soulful exploration. Includes Gravedigger.
The second disc, live with Tim Reynolds, kicks ass (of course).
I have Away From The World (?). A recommendation from a friend, but never really done much for me. He dropped the ‘Band’?

I never heard AFTW. He has so many albums now, I lost track.
Yeah for this one it was just DM not DMB. He hadn’t given up on the DMB at all, though. Just a solo excursion…

You’re right, his stuff with Tim Reynolds is the stuff to hear!

I’ve always thought so! It always amazed me that Reynolds isn’t a band member. Like, imagine if it was the Matthews Reynolds Band. Imagine the kinds of albums the MRB could’ve been making all along!

Yup! I had a brain fart and commented that he wasn’t a member of the DMB and then immediately baleted that comment because it is now time for me to go to bed hooboy. If it’s still in yer inbox just ignore me. Exhaustion is AWESOME!
