Blue Rodeo – Small Miracles

Here’s another one I found for $1 (in pristine shape, too!) during our Taranna wanderings…

The Racy Lacy Anniversary Series, Part 15 (CD, $1)

Blue Rodeo in 2007 stay the course with great aplomb – the same timeless country meets soft rock and jazzy soulful glory, the same wonderful arrangements and harmony vocals, the same all-over brilliance. A new Blue Rodeo record is like a warm hug from a loved one. It just feels right.

Bob Packwood joins the game, his keyboard work a perfect addition. Fans know that these guys are legends in Canada, and this record just further cements that status.

Wow!

FYI – iTunes edition has 4 live bonus tracks including C’Mon. I can help you get them if you want.

This is a very good Blue Rodeo album, but between Palace of Gold and the present day, I find they can get a bit same-y. I’m eager to hear the new one, which just came out two days ago!

Extra tracks? Holy crap YES PLEASE! Tell me how!

Hm. It may be same-y? I dunno, I didn’t think so. Maybe it’s just that they have solidified their sound and they do what they do and it’s all so damn good that they just keep doing it. I still love it!

I saw the new one on the Amazons and was tempted. But I just bought so much music in Taranna! I will get a copy, never fear.

I know! There’s a few bins in there with $1 each. Most of them are scratched, and they’re meant for the people who don’t care about perfection, just want play copies. But every once in a while you’ll check one you want and bingo, in perfect shape. I assume they cull their main bins now and again too, for ones that haven’t sold, and just chuck ’em in there. Hence my getting 4 CDs in perfect shape!
