This is a re-post for me. Turns out, I covered it back on March 17, 2014!
I’d received this disc as a gift from our Heavy Metal Overlord. WHAT A GIFT!
Listening back to it for this post, I found I agreed with my past self, so there ain’t a whole lot extra to add. I ain’t cheaping out on the post word count, I’m too busy rocking!
For Those About To Rock (We Salute You), indeed!
\m/ 🙂 \m/
I’m not familiar with this, but I’ll give it a go.

I was wondering where my copy had gone haha. Was never that fussed about this one. Not a big AC/DC fan though, in fairness so what do I know?

I hope you meant to send it this way! If you need it back (despite admitting you’re not much of a fan), lemme know! 🙂

Well, it’s certainly warm and cared for here. It just told me it wants to stay… it’s a win-win!

I’d give this one 6/10, never liked it much apart from the title track and Evil Walks. FotS and FotW were much better LPs than this one!

I can neither confirm nor deny this, as I don’t own either of those other two!

Full commitment to rocking with hands flashing horns therefore unable to type = more than valid reason for small word count!

AC/DC can bring that out in a guy…

In my opinion, the last great AC/DC record. ‘Flick of the Switch’ had its moments, but everything after that was pretty spotty/same-y. Hearing them play “For Those About To Rock” live was a monumental point in my teen-dom. Cannons blasting from both sides of the stage it was a visceral experience for me in November of 1991 at the Fort Wayne Coliseum.

I wanted to disagree with you. But I can’t really. You’re right. Having said that, I love Stiff Upper Lip, but it’s not a “great AC/DC record” in the same caliber as this one.

Lots of great moments post-‘For Those About To Rock’, but no great albums start to finish. They’ve remained a stellar band live, though.

Trying to think of one that comes close start to finish. I guess Flick of the Switch would be the closest.

I kinda like Fly On The Wall, actually. Not perfect, but “Fly On The Wall”, “Shake Your Foundations”, “Sink The Pink” and “Danger” are all great songs.

Danger is awesome! 1537 and I have tussled a bit over that album. I find the production to be a real impediment to my enjoyment. I can’t tell what Johnson’s saying!

An unfortunate side effect of mid-80s production. And an unfortunate side effect of being Brian Johnson.

LOL! That’s hilariously true.

You got to see this live? Holy crap, man. That’s just awesome.
Damn, I still need to get FotS. And a few others…

Night before Thanksgiving, 1990. Razor’s Edge tour. Killer show. Love/Hate opened. My older brother bought us tickets. So freaking loud.
