2016 has been a rough one, deaths-wise, and the hits just keep on rolling as the year winds down…
Rick Parfitt (of Status Quo) died December 24 at the age of 68.
He’d lived it up to the fullest, and had many health issues over recent years.
George Michael died December 25 at the young age of 53.
My sister was a huge Wham! fan, so I heard their music a lot. And when he went solo, she went with him and we heard a lot of that too. As of this posting, cause of death is not verified, but his agent says it was heart failure.
I liked George M more as an activist than as a musician, he was a mighty effective one too.
And Rick Parfitt was the Quo for me. Sad, sad sad.

You’re right, George really stepped up, didn’t he!
I’m not as well-versed in the Status Quo catalogue as you, but I’m sorry to hear they’ve lost your favourite player. 😦

Well, we all gotta go sometime, but it seems like this year has taken its share of artists we know, for sure.
