Danko Jones – Never Too Loud

I Wanna Taranna Pt. 10: BMV #10 (3-For-$10 #2) Danko Jones – Never Too Loud

Straight up awesome, I scored this Danko Jones album (their 4th), which had three singles: Code Of The Road, Take Me Home and King Of Magazines.

It’s a Danko Jones album, so if you know him already you know: it fucking ROCKS, and it is unapologetic about that. It’s big, loud, bluesy groovy and full-on rawk, just like every other Danko Jones album. The sound is perfectly recorded, and it sounds like every song (all 11 of them) should be on rock radio.

Put it in, turn it up, and rip your best air guitar moves! Go go GO!

  1. Although I reckon the one Danko I have is plenty, I would be tempted by another if it was part of a deal (and I didn’t see anything else, of course). You know what you’re getting… nothing exciting, but it’s Rockin’ enjoyable.

  4. You have me discovering all this great music from my homeland. I’ll give this a go just from it “fucking ROCKS”. Those are takes CB gets. If I was to bracket time and include a Danko, is this it?

    • Hooray! This one’s awesome. So is Sleep Is The Enemy, so is… well hell. Any of them. These guys don’t know how to not rock. 🙂

      • Spoken like a true music lover, It’s all good! I like those short to the point reviews. “Get it. It’s great!!!”

        • Thanks! A while back, I consciously decided to go shorter and punchier, but to still try to say what I wanted to say. It’s tougher than it seems… if left to my own devices I’d just go on and on and on… 🙂 But especially with Danko it’s a cinch: Just get it and RAWK! Woo!

          • I really like the ‘shorter and punchier” I’m working towards that on some takes. Good reminder.

Bob Geldolf use to be a critic for the Georgia Straight in Van. One of his reviews on some disco album was “Shit”. Kind of summed it up. I didn’t get the album.

            • Haha now that was straight to the point!

One time I reviewed a Modest Mouse album and wrote one line only for it, something like “if I wanted Pavement, I would just ask for Pavement,” and Deke wrote in to see if I was OK ‘cos I usually rambled a lot more than that! Classic! 🙂
