House Of Lords – House Of Lords

Bought this on Mike’s suggestion, as there is a KISS connection (it was on Gene Simmons’ label), and because he said it was kinda tough to find. From the 3-for$10 bin, good enough for me.

Toasty Taranna #14: BMV #14: 3-For-$10 Bin #10: House Of Lords – House Of Lords

The intro to Pleasure Palace threw me, but it soon got down to rockin’. Throughout these songs, I thought the KISS influence was huge. The riffs and song structures are solid. Lookin’ For Strange was a Hot For Teacher blast, and there are a few 80s soundtrack efforts too (try Love Don’t Lie). Slip Of The Tongue was another fun full-tilt boogie, and I loved the intro to Jealous Heart before the typical tune takes over. In all, I liked it. Would play it again, when I want some 80s rawk.

Hit It Or Quit It? Hit.

I wasn’t familiar with it at all until Mike excitedly grabbed it from the bin and told me about it. If you’re looking for new-to-you rawk from that period, you could do a lot worse than this one!

I’m thinking this one was released in 88? I did buy it. It did not grab me right away in the listening dept! But when I think back to the years especially 1982-1991 there was so much music coming out that I was scooping like a lunatic that when I would spin it and it didn’t grab my attention right away I moved on…this album was one of them…
    Too Much Pomp!

Yup, 1988. Good memory, Deke! There was certainly an overload of music for Dekesters in those years, I can see how it wouldn’t stand out. Do you think, though, if there hadn’t been such a glut of other stuff, that this one (and its pomp) might have been a helluva lot better, to your ears?
