I struggle with this as well. Sometimes I wonder if it is a good idea to put our collection “out there”. But we don’t really have anything that valuable, so I doubt anyone would go through the effort.

Where were you at this time, seems awfully coincidental that you begin an album project and this persons albums disappear. Especially as the next letter in the alphabet is B.

I would have gotten away with it, too, if it wasn’t for you meddling kids and your dog! Haha no sir, it most definitely was not me. Firstly and mainly because I am an ethical person and I don’t do that stuff, and secondly, I’m more of a Stones guy. 😉

I’m glad it wasn’t you but I feel sorry for the people whose house it was. I wouldn’t put it past some people to steal vinyl records thinking they’re extremely valuable.

Sorry if you saw a reply to the comment below under yours! I happy-clicked. Anyway, yeah it sucks. I was saying to Bop, it seemed targeted, like someone knew it was all there. Hence my thinking on my project!

Owns 45 grand worth of Beatles records but plays them on a Realistic turntable.
    Hmmmm.

I suspect the values are wayyyy over-inflated.
    Still really sucks though.

Dude you know it’s true that people just ‘have all these old records lying around’ and play them on whatever turntable they’ve had since forever. The prices are most probably over-inflated to make it more sensational (I mean, let’s be honest, how many other times does Goderich make the CBC news?) but I see it all the time, people saying they have this or that LP and still using the old giant coffin sound system grandma had (you know the one, the side table with the lid that lifted and a turntable, a cassette deck and an 8-track player inside).

And yup, still really sucks. Definitely someone who knew what was there, and had maybe even visited the house. Sounded pretty targeted.

Yeah. I just found it funny.

As for targeted, there are a ton of people on Facebook vinyl posts. The others have there name and can easily Google there address. Every day I see people posting their systems, vinyl etc. for all to see.
They may even post something like (On vacation until next week).

Yeah but see, that’s logic like having sex without a condom because you’ve never gotten pregnant before now so why would this time be any different? I dunno. Thinking I didn’t fully think through the Project!
