J. Mascis Live At CBGB’s: The First Acoustic Show

Just out of curiosity, how are you folks liking this picture/caption gig? Lemme know…

Sonic Boom #2

Let’s be honest, Mascis can’t sing, but he’s odd enough to be highly enojyable. This is a great acoustic set, too.

Cool thanks Geoff. I’ll happily take other suggestions of fast post ideas, if there’s somethng you can think of.

As for gravitating, I’ve been a Jagger fan all my life so I know all about it. 😉

    J Mascis rules.

I know time is valuable so if there is no time to review the album maybe focus on a song or 2. Mention artists/people involved in the making. I read these WordPress posts to feel the passion and help me decide if this album is worth buying or not. I love finding new music this way or comparing the notes to my own feelings of the album.

The comment of J Mascis not being able sing (he is an acquired taste but I love everything about him) is incendiary. Stuff like that can draw the reader in to argue or agree in the comments. Elaborate a bit. Odd enough to be highly enjoyable. Give us a song example that you enjoyed and why. A great acoustic set. Tell us a bit about the instrumentation. Solos. Great guitar sounds. He had a symphony behind him, the drummer had a cool jazz beat, the guest bassist was Flea etc.

    Reel us in baby.

Just my 2 cents. If this format works for you I get it. If my suggestions work great. If you want me to mind my own business and shut my pie hole, that’s cool.

I love all of those ideas. I want to do them all. I also want to read everything and comment on everything but time is the biggest issue, completely limited. I like the ‘song-or-two’ approach. Maybe I could lean on YouTube and link a song instead.

I hear you… that’s why I rarely post these days. But I have a couple in the drafts that I work on when I get a spare minute.
