Band – The Last Waltz

You don’t need me to tell you anything about this one, right? Right.

I have, here, two original LP copies of this 3LP set, but not a CD set. Hm.

Anyway. Pure classic.

  1. I saw the film in the cinema when I was 17. The music was definitely the ticket.

  2. Hey, if you come across the multi-CD expanded re-issue, grab it. Great stuff.

    • I absolutely will. If I can ever get out into the wild again…!

      • After over 100 days lockdown, we’re hoping for significant easing next week. Vinyl and new undies here we come!

        • I remember 100 days. Man, we’re well over 200 days here. Ugh.

Yes to both of those things, but I’d imagine vinyl undies would be uncomfortable…

          • 😅
Really? That’s tough! Are the shops closed (other than essentials)? Everybody working from home? The full iso experience?

            • Yup, actually today (Saturday Oct 24) is Day 218. I’m keeping track because why not. Anyway, not complete lock-down, but almost, for me. Most things are open. My job is up and running, but I’m not there. My lovely wife works in a hospital, with all attendant protocols and concerns. And even when my work opened up, I couldn’t go because our kids we still on (technically) summer break and are too young to be left alone (by law), and we could not bubble with my over-70 parents for childcare that way, so I stayed home with the kids. When school re-started, we opted for the remote (online) learning, for many reasons, so I am still here. My last day of work was March 20, which seems years ago, and I’m still on some sort of leave from work… until they get tird of waiting, I suppose.. I do get out once a week. Saturday morning is my gig. I get to go get groceries. Makes sense, I do all the cooking so I get to pick the ingredients, but that’s generally it. Funny thing, I don’t feel I’m missing too much, and with two brilliant, energetic kids on hand, I have more than enough to do with my days. Plus, the house has never been cleaner! It’s not all bon bons and soap operas. I don’t even play guitar all that much. But we get by, and I make sure to get exercise every day. Life on hold? Yeah, but until this plague gets under control, this is where I’ll be.

              • Yep. This is the way we live at present. We’ve all been working from home for four months now, though the boy goes back to school on Monday (no choice!). With all retail (other than food etc) being closed, outings to the dentist have been my social highlight! Health care workers are the heroes, for sure. Stay safe A.

                • I wish I could work from home – unfortunately my job would require me to be physically in the building to do the thing. So, here I sit, and the kids are in school on their laptops, and only my lovely wife leaves the house for something normal every day. But of course it;s not normal for her, either. Mental health is a huge aspect these days, uptick in anxiety and depression and you name it, and increases for people who already suffered those things. She’s a hero for sure, and she’s handling it with aplomb. Because of course she is, she’s amazing!

  3. When the DVD was released in 2002 they did a special limited showing in theatres. It was a great thrill to see it on the big screen. I only have the original 3 LP set as well. I’d love to get the expanded edition but I have never seen it for a decent price.

  4. Never heard of it. Signed Pinocchio.
