Bidiniband – The Motherland

If you’ve been following along, and I know you have, it will not surprise you when I say that I love this album and it is essential listening. It might sound like I have a bias towards the output of Mr. Dave Bidini, and that is indeed the case. I stand by that.

The proof is in the music, as always. It’s more genius songwriting, playful and clear and solid. It runs the usual (beautiful) spectrum of gentle folk, quirky pop, country, to full-on Neil Young AC/DC-inspired rawk. There are even guests, like Selina Martin, and the Late (RIP) great Al Purdy and the Billie Hollies. Say The Names even contains spoken word and poetry by Purdy. I mean, this is pure greatness folks.

Try it here, then buy it!!

These guys are new to me (I hadn’t heard of them prior to your posts), but I’m really enjoying a lot of this stuff, man. On the radar now.
