Master Of Puppets was released 35 years ago yesterday (March 3, 1986). So, Metallica played Battery on Stephen Colbert’s A Late Show to celebrate.
Pro: It was a killer rendition (of course). Still got it, boys! Let’s gooooo! \m/ \m/
Con: Those middle school video project slide effects were baaaad. Pft, amateurs.
Genius track.

I guess they were going for the ol’ Amiga video toaster vibe with the effects. Solid live version.

Battery was Robert’s audition song. I’m not a Metallica fan, but the audition scene in Some Kind of Monster alone is worth the price of seeing it.

Has any guitarist ever needed even close to as many picks as these guys have on their microphone stands?
