In Which Aaron Admits He May Have Gone A Bit Crazy With Finds Recently But Isn’t Too Worried About It Because Thrift Store Stuff Never Cost Much, And Piles Like This Make Up For Times There’s Nothing I’d Want

Yup I went a little crazy, the past while, but for the same price of (roughly) two new releases I got 29 albums. That’s a win, in my book. Let’s have a look at what’s in this batch:

Bryan Adams – Reckless 2CD Includes extra tracks, and the BBC Live recordings. Awesome.

Bryan Adams – Tracks Of My Years Love the cover photo. Likes like he’s doing cover tunes of songs he liked back in the day. We’ll see.

April Wine – The Hits An essential part of this complete collection.

Tony Bennett – Perfectly Frank Bennett singing Sinatra songs? All day long, baby, all day long.

Tony Bennett and Diana Krall – Love Is Here To Stay These two together ought to be magical.

Jackson Browne – The Very Best Of 2CD Looks to be a ton of great stuff on here. Cool.

Byrds – Greatest Hits Another piece of the puzzle, though I wonder how much I’ll play it. We’ll see.

Eurythmics – Greatest Hits Sharp-eyed Readers will know I bought an Ultimate set of theirs last time. Of course, I forgot all about that when I bought this one. Sigh.

Aretha Franklin – Aretha This one is a no-brainer, I love Aretha. This is her with the Ray Bryant Combo.

Aretha Franklin – A Brand New Me A newer release, it’s Aretha with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. I have this on LP but a CD needs rescue too.

Daryl Hall & John Oates – Greatest Hits I’ll know every song here. And I can play You Make My Dreams at home whenever the Leafs win!

Heart – Greatest Hits 1985-1995 Did I need to buy this? No. But it was an intriguing (probably their biggest?) decade to cover, so we’ll see.

Waylon Jennings – Ultimate Waylon Jennings Because Waylon.

Kenny Loggins – The Greatest Hits Of Another 80s staple for us, some titles I don’t know but I’ll bet I’ve heard them before.

Meat Loaf – Hits Of Out Hell I don’t know why I bought this, I didn’t really need it. I have the albums I’d want already. Ah well.

Joni Mitchell – Hits I hesitated on this one. I’m honestly not the biggest Joni fan (I know, I know). But maybe a Hits set will be the key to getting me to her stuff. Although this doesn’t have A Case Of You on it and, seriously, who omits that? Sigh.

Montrose – The Very Best Of The band name was vague in my memory and I wondered if it was Sammy Hagar, and it was! Cool.

Jacob Moon – 20 Years A best of from one of my favourite ‘local’ (close enough) artists.

Mötley Crüe – Decade Of Decadence I probably didn’t need this, as I have those two (horribly named) Music To Crash Your Car To boxed sets.

Mary Margaret O’Hara – Miss America An album I’ve always meant to spend more time with, so here’s my chance!

Prism – Over 60 Minutes With… Another one I got figuring it might be all I need by the band.

Chris Stapleton – Songs From A Room #1, and #2 I’ve heard the name, I was curious to check it out. Great beard.

Diana Ross & The Supremes – Number 1’s As if I was going to leave this behind. As if!

Trapper – Go For The Heart EP I do love Emm Gryner. And adding Sean Kelly to the mix for a rock band sound glorious to me. Let’s go.

Various – America: A Tribute To Heroes 2CD A ton of huge names on here, looks like a 9/11 tribute.

Various – Diana Krall: Artist’s Choice Diana picks songs she likes. Cool.

Various – Verve Remixed Old Verve standards re-done by contemporary electronic music producers and DJs. If it sucks, I’m not too worried, but I do love Verve so I’ll try it.

Verve Remixed2 2CD Follow-up to the Verve Remixed, but this has a second disc with the old originals on it. Awesome.

Whew! If you’ve read this far, thank you! I now have a ton of new music to hear, and I’ll get to posting about all of it at some point. I’m still playing catch-up on previous finds from other forays into the wild. All in good time!

You Make My Dreams come true is a fine victory song – and you’ve gotten to play it a bunch recently for the Leafs too, the Penguins just won their 5th in a row tonight as well!

You know, at first, I thought it was a silly song to play but it has grown on me enough, in that setting.

Leafs struggled against the Penguins both times this year, so this does not surprise me. But yeah, they’re on a bit of a heater right now., but they’re still capable of somehow just giving up even when they’re wining. The most frustrating team to watch. Will they beat San Jose tonight, though? Who knows.

Looks like someone had too much coffee again, lol! I think I heard good things about ‘Mötley Crüe – Decade Of Decadence.’ It has “Primal Scream” on there, which is one of my favorite Mötley Crüe songs!

Too much cooffee? Me? Nah, I only ever have one per day, in the morning with breakfast. And I enjoy the hell out of it. And then that’s it until the next morning.

Yeah it’s a cool Crüe set, but I’m betting now that I’ll find I didn’t need it at all, that I have all those tracks in the boxed sets. I snagged it for cheap just in case, though. 😉

One could say you’ve been a little ‘reckless’ with your money. Also, the Australian edition of that Meatloaf greatest hits has the only CD release of a song called “Lost Love”. Don’t tell Mike.
