You could argue that Big Harvest’s gorgeous imagery and layered songs (complete with echoey 80’s background guitars and restless drums) make it the best record Peter Gabriel never made with Bruce Cockburn. And sure, you’ve heard Eddie Vedder’s cover of Hard Sun a few too many times on the radio, but this album is so much bigger than that one song, or any one influence. It is vast. Elemental. Stunning, really. Completely recommended.
