Local Rabbits – This Is It Here We Go
Here’s another one I found at Sonic Boom for $3. This is an utter travesty. It ought to have been ten times as much. This is gold. Gold, I tells ya!

Yup, this copy was autographed by Peter Elkas, folks. A winner is me!
The 5th Annual Toronto Expedition Series, Part 39 (CD)
I saw Local Rabbits open for Sloan in… oh man, it was first year university, so that woulda been 1993/94, at the Capitol Theater in Windsor… Sloan was touring Twice Removed, anyway, so for Local Rabbits that would have been the Super Duper EP (and probably songs that would end up on their first record, 1995’s You Can’t Touch This)… They were label-mates at Sloan’s Murderecords, anyway. I have many happy memories of that show.
There was one other record, 1998’s Basic Concept, and then this one, from 2001, was their last. All I can say is what a shame that they didn’t get huge and be still making records today. Their quirky soulful awesome Canuck alternative rawk pleases me greatly. It swings. It rocks. It’s super-smart, pop-savvy, and very, very well put together.
This Is It Here We Go is a keeper of a record, a time capsule of a sound and a time and a band that mattered. I absolutely loved it. Love love love.
Thank you, Local Rabbits!
