Grail List Addition For Aaron
Alright, I need you folks to keep your eyes peeled for another CD for me! Well, OK, it’s a 2CD… Yup, full reimbursement and my undying grattitude to anyone who finds me the 2CD Van Morrison Complete Bang Sessions (the deluxe edition). Pretty pretty please someone find it for cheap somewhere, instead of the $125 some seller on Amazon wants for it! A used copy (in good shape) is fine by me. Someone who doesn’t know what they have might let it go for $20 or so… Thanks folks!
NB: This is not to be confused with the 1CD copy called Bang Masters. That one can be had for $10 brand new. Nope, I want the full 2CD set! The one I’m after should be 18 tracks on CD1, 31 tracks on CD2. Yeah baby!
And don’t forget, if you have your wants on our Grail List (found at the top left of our page) and you have additions, or you found something and need the item removed, let us know! Or if you haven’t submitted your Grail List yet and you want to, feel free to do so at your leisure! Let all of us keep our eyes peeled for your hard-to-get records for you! It’s all about community, baby! KMA Comuunity! Give ‘er!
Ten Great Late Night Albums, Pt.1 (1-10)
When the kids are in bed just down the hall, what music best fills the hours before the grown-up finally crash for the night? Here are 10 records (in no particular order) that I will (and have!) put on later at night…
Miles Davis – Kind Of Blue
Cowboy Junkies – Trinity Sessions
Muddy Waters – Folk Singer
Wynton Marsalis – Standard Time Vol.3
Johnny Cash – American IV: The Man Comes Around
Supreme Beings Of Leisure – S/T
Harry Connick, Jr. – To See You
R.E.M. – Automatic For The People
J.J. Cale – Troubadour
Diana Krall – The Look Of Love
Kim Stockwood – 12 Years Old
The title track was one I knew (and enjoyed again). She has a very strong voice, which carries the fair-to-middlin’, almost new country pop music here. Yup, it’s her voice that’s the most captivating aspect of this record.
All-American Rejects – Move Along
Another $2 spec buy, this is pop punk that didn’t do too much for me. Good on them for putting this together, but that cookie cutter vocal, sitcom soundtrack sound really ain’t baking my cake. This is an aptly-title record. Move along, rejects, move along.
Sarah Vaughan – Trouble Is A Man
This is fantastic, and better since I found it for $2. The songs have that sound I love, and these are ten old classic tunes. So much to love, here, and Vaughan’s voice is amazing. Get yourself a copy of this one!
Animals – House Of The Rising Sun
A Time Music bargain bin release, this CD didn’t sound right, to me. It was too new… Turns out, it is a total sham. These are all updated versions (one listing said it was late-60s Animals bassist Danny McCulloch, but no other Animals involved – I have no way of proving this) Haha you should read the reviews on Amazon. Whomever thought they could sneak this one past the listeners was dead wrong. Bad bad bad.
