KMA1107 Honeymoon Suite – The Singles
This is another disc I picked up on our anniversary trip last weekend. Got it for $2, in perfect shape. Next shop we were in, it was $9. A quick look at Discogs today revealed only 4 copies available (!), in any format: $11.09 (cassette), $16.84 (LP), and $14.64 (CD).* This surprised me – I would have guessed these would be littering every collection, people selling them off for $0.01, etc. But apparently not. Is it that rare? Who knew?
Anyway, I have owned it more than once in the past but, while I couldn’t tell you precisely what happened to my copies of it, I did not currently have it. Now I do (again)! Come to think of it, I actually think my first copy of this was a cassette…
Somehow, my memory recalled this as having more than 12 tracks. It probably never did, in any version, but this is how my brain sometimes tries to do me in.
There’s really not much to say about this disc that you won’t already know, but I’ll admit that it was a total trip down memory lane, for me. All the big songs that casual fans could want are here. Those of us who know the albums can say this or that track is missing, but this blast of pure 80s Can-rock synth and big guitar riffage, mixed with full-on ballads, will certainly please most.
My lovely wife and I rocked this in the car, and we sang along with every single word of every song, many of which we probably haven’t heard in years. It was fun!
* The fourth copy, a M/M CD, was $63. I think “robtet2” in Italy has mis-priced their copy.
