Pegi Young – Foul Deeds

The Taranna Was Hot Series: Part 22/25 (Sonic Boom, $2.99)

Playing this after Holly Golightly wasn’t fair to Pegi, as this didn’t grab me as much. All the perfectly-produced songs blended together. But there’s still power and beauty here. Any other day I would rave about it. You really get the feeling she’s lived the heartbreak and pain in these country blues, and yet still finds the beauty and clarity in life’s moments too. The band is stellar, some from Neil’s own, and you could do far worse than this.

You mean how do I have the time to listen to all of this? Well, that Taranna trip was a while back, now, so there’s been time to dig into it, some more than once. I also walk every night, and the ol’ iPod comes with me. Plus tunes are on in the car, in the house, at night after the kids are in bed… Lots of time to listen. 🙂

Wait, you meant how do I hear OF these people? Well, Pegi was Neil Young’s wife for ages. They’re now separated, because Neil took up with Daryl Hannah. I know. Anyway, Pegi did a couple of records on her own. I was pretty happy to find this one, and for only $3!
